The Image Processing Based Smart Energy Saving System is designed to reduce power consumption using vision-based automation. A camera continuously monitors the area and captures images, which are processed by a Single Board Computer (SBC) to detect human presence. Based on occupancy detection, electrical appliances are automatically switched ON or OFF. This helps eliminate unnecessary energy usage in unoccupied spaces. This project uses a camera module, SBC, image processing algorithms, control units, and embedded programming, making it suitable for smart buildings and energy-efficient automation applications.
