PROTOTYPE MODEL FOR 6V BATTERY CHARGER AND ACTIVE CELL BALANCE SYSTEM FOR EV VEHICLES

The development of a prototype 6V battery charger with an active cell balancing system specifically designed for electric cars (EVs) is the primary objective of this study. By avoiding overcharging and providing effective battery charging, the charger prolongs battery life. To reduce disparities caused by unequal charging or discharging, the active cell balancing system balances the voltage levels across all battery cells. A microprocessor is used by the system to automatically control the balancing process and check voltage levels. Control electronics, balance resistors, and a charging circuit are essential parts. Cell voltage uniformity, energy efficiency, and charging speed are all tested. An overview of EV battery management systems is provided in this project, emphasizing how crucial it is to preserve battery health for improved longevity and performance in electric vehicles.
